The airport’s prerequisites and tasks

Like the rest of the air travel industry, Stockholm-Arlanda Airport has undergone a few years of major changes in order to meet the needs of the market. We view the next several years with confidence and are continuing our efforts to improve our competitiveness and financial stability by making steady improvements for our customers − consistent with our vision, mission and values.

Vision

To make the Stockholm region the obvious choice in Scandinavia for business people, travellers and visitors.

Mission

Stockholm-Arlanda Airport shall be the centre of transport services in Scandinavia. The airport offers customers added value through its selection of products and services and through its accessibility, proximity and service, with civil aviation as its base.

Tasks

The LFV Group is a State enterprise group whose tasks include owning, developing and operating Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. This means that the Group’s revenue comes from our customers and that the Swedish State demands a return on its investment. The State has also entrusted the LFV Group with operating and developing cost-effective, safe and smoothly functioning airports and air navigation services. At Stockholm-Arlanda this entails a wide range of business activities, including everything from running the airport’s own energy company to property leasing and international marketing of Stockholm as a destination.

Organisational structure

In organisational terms, Stockholm-Arlanda Airport plus Stockholm-Bromma Airport comprise the Stockholm Division, which is part of The LFV Group.

The airport’s values

Stockholm-Arlanda’s values were designed to serve as support and policies in our work and are shared guidelines for our philosophy, both internally and externally. The key principles are a businesslike approach, responsibility and enthusiasm.

The environment

Improving the environment

Extensive environmental work is continuously under way at the airport. Green approaches, special privileges for ecotaxis, biogas-powered buses, space heating with biofuel and water treatment are some of the areas of this work. In 2006, 97 per cent of waste went towards recycling or energy production.
