As a gateway airport, Stockholm-Arlanda provides excellent connections, not only to the rest of Sweden, but throughout Scandinavia. The ground transport network to Stockholm-Arlanda provides several different options in terms of travel time and price, enabling passengers to easily access the airport. About four million people live in the airport’s catchment area.

Sweden the most populous Nordic country - Stockholm the largest city

Sweden has the largest share of population in the Nordic countries, and Stockholm is the largest capital. Stockholm has grown by 9 per cent since 1995, giving it one of the highest population growth rates in Europe.

Sweden has generous immigration policies and receives by far the most immigrants among the Scandinavian countries. About 23 to 25 per cent of the population in Stockholm has a foreign background.
