Stockholm-Arlanda Airport – a reliable gateway to Scandinavia
Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, located at the heart of Scandinavia, is Stockholm’s international airport. Its infrastructure maintains a consistently high standard, making Stockholm-Arlanda not just an economical choice but also a reliable and enjoyable point of entry to the region.
This was recognised in 2006 when the airport won the world’s most prestigious award for air traffic management, the IATA Eagle Award.
The 2007 Skytrax passenger survey ranked Stockholm-Arlanda as the airport with the third most efficient security processing in the world.
Slot availability and growth capacity
As air traffic over Europe continues to intensify, growth capacity is an important strength at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. Two factors will always be crucial to the future potential of any airport: the availability of slots and the availability of land for on-going expansion. Stockholm-Arlanda Airport has both.
Capacity to handle 25 million passengers
As Scandinavia's premier airport, Stockholm-Arlanda Airport today has the capacity to serve 25 million passengers. During 2007, the airport handled 17.9 million passengers and 218,000 take-offs and landings.
Arlanda Passenger Survey
Every year, Stockholm-Arlanda Airport interviews 100,000 departing passengers (90 per cent international and 10 per cent domestic) to gather data about the worldwide market, including 1,400 destinations, volume, transfer flows and reasons for travelling.
