On Wednesday afternoon, September 26, Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is opening a 200 metre long sound and light experience in the passageway between Terminals 2 and 4. “A good example of how we can integrate art into the environment in a functional way,” says Karin Elver Renström, Design Manager, LFV Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.
With the help of lighting architects and sound artists, the airport has altered the experience of walking through the passageway between Terminals 2 and 4 in a way that awakens thoughts of Nordic light. Travellers will move from a Nordic summer day into twilight, the blue hour and the northern lights.
“A good example of how we can integrate art into the environment in a functional way,” says Karin Elver Renström, Design Manager, LFV Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.
On Wednesday at 3.00 p.m., we will gather in the passageway and press the Start button for the sound and light experience. Officiating will be Björn Hellström, architect from the Urban Sound Institute and professor at the Stockholm University College of Arts, Crafts and Design; Kai Pippo and Eva Persson, lighting designers at the Ljusarkitektur company; Karin Elver Renström, Design Manager and Peter Bohman, Terminal Manager, LFV Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.
Venue: Gather at Terminal 2, close to the passageway towards Terminal 4.
Time: At 3.00 p.m., Wednesday, September 26.
