Travellers give their views of Stockholm-Arlanda

On January 31, the first panel of travellers at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport met. The purpose was to gather opinions and ideas about how the airport can improve its services and become more efficient. “We are here for travellers, so their opinions are important as we further develop the airport,” says Peter Bohman, Terminal Manager, LFV Arlanda.
During the past year, LFV Arlanda has tried to make both major and minor improvements for travellers. More new shops and eating establishments have been added, new security screening checkpoints have been built, terminal hosts have been hired, and it is now possible to pre-book your parking space.
The travellers’ panel consists mainly of members of the Swedish Business Travellers Association, but other groups are also represented. At its first meeting, the panel was invited to give its opinions about the ongoing expansion of Terminal 5.
“Those of us who work at the airport every day have of course lost our outsider’s perspective, and we think it’s very easy to find our way around here. It is always useful to see things from another angle, and I promise that we will listen carefully to people’s opinions,” Mr Bohman says.
Last year the airport spent SEK 100 million on improvements for travellers. This year’s investments for such purposes will total SEK 300 million.
Travellers who do not belong to the panel but who wish to meet the airport management to present their suggestions for improvements have the opportunity to do so. On the last Thursday of every month between 7-9 a.m., representatives of the airport management and of SAS Sweden airline management usually make themselves available in Terminal 5 to listen to ideas.
The travellers’ panel consists of ten people. Its next meeting will take place in the autumn.
