The Arlanda Visitor Centre will open at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport on September 21. The Centre will serve as a combined traffic information and tourist information office. It will also be an arena for the region to showcase what Stockholm and vicinity have to offer.

LFV Arlanda developed the Arlanda Visitor Centre in close collaboration with the Stockholm Visitors Board, which devised the concept and trained the people who will work at the Centre, as well as contributing Stockholm display panels. The local tourism agency Sigtuna Turism AB is contributing a full-time employee at the Centre who will participate in the development of its operations.
“We have created an arena where the region can showcase what it can offer to the 18 million business and leisure travellers who fly to and from Arlanda each year,” says Jan Lindqvist, Head of Corporate Communication, LFV Arlanda.
“For many tourists in Stockholm, the Arlanda Visitors Centre will be their first contact with the visitors’ service and thus an important complement to the Stockholm Tourist Centre and the Stockholm panels,” says Martin Rosborg, CEO of the Stockholm Visitors Board.
“We have worked closely with LFV and have played an active role since the project began in the spring of 2006. We are glad that LFV has adopted our concept for a modern information and meeting place. During the spring, we trained the Centre’s staff as Stockholm ambassadors and they also performed practical training at the Stockholm Tourist Centre during the summer. At Arlanda we are setting up eight Stockholm display panels, of which four will be located at the Centre, two at Terminal 2 and two at Terminal 4.”
“As Arlanda’s home municipality, Sigtuna wants to make a contribution when LFV carries out a major investment in a Visitors Centre. Sigtuna Turism operates a “Blue and Yellow” tourist information office (authorised to provide local, regional and national tourist information and book accommodations). Our task will be to contribute tourism expertise and more in-depth hospitality-mindedness on the spot,” says Camilla Zedendahl, Managing Director, Sigtuna Turism. “The guiding principles of our work are ‘the greatest possible accessibility’ and ‘the greatest possible service’. And it feels as if these principles also fit perfectly into LFV Stockholm-Arlanda’s effort. Assuming a responsibility as business developers at AVC is a major assignment, we believe. AVC will now help us to implement the dream of working together to highlight the entire region and to warmly welcome our guests,” Ms Zedendahl comments.
Welcome to the official inauguration ceremony. Between 12.00 noon and 1.00 p.m. on Friday, September 21, the Arlanda Visitor Centre in Terminal 5 will be inaugurated. The inauguration speakers will be:
Lars Rekke, Director General, LFV Group (State enterprise that operates Sweden’s major airports)
Anders Johansson, Chairman, Executive Committee, Municipality of Sigtuna (where Arlanda is located)
Bo Bladholm, Lord Mayor and President of the Stockholm City Council
