easyJet to Stockholm-Arlanda this autumn

This is a press release from easyJet in LFV’s unofficial translation.

On June 19 easyJet, Europe’s largest low fare airline, announced its venture into the Swedish market.

Starting on October 20, easyJet will offer one daily departure to Stockholm-Arlanda Airport from Milan Malpensa, northern Italy’s most important airport. The new route is part of easyJet’s expansion at Milan Malpensa, where easyJet is the largest airline.

“We are very pleased about this new route to Sweden and Stockholm,” says John Kohlsaat, easyJet’s regional manager for northern Europe and Germany. “EasyJet ties together Europe’s most important cities by flying to centrally located airports such as Stockholm-Arlanda and Milan Malpensa. Because of our unique combination of low fares, care and comfort, both business and leisure passengers choose us as their airline.”

“For a long time, easyJet has been one of the most important airlines in Europe,” says Mats Sigurdson, Director Aviation Marketing at LFV, the state enterprise that operates the major Swedish airports. “Airline industry growth is occurring mainly among low fare airlines, of which easyJet is the best-reputed. With this venture, Stockholm-Arlanda is strengthening its position as the airport in Sweden that has the largest selection of low fare tickets.”

Milan is the largest city in Lombardy, Italy’s most dynamic region, and is the country’s leading business centre as well as a fashion and shopping capital. Milan is also a major destination for weekend travellers, who appreciate its proximity to the Alps and the spectacular lakes of northern Italy.

All easyJet departures can be booked at www.easyjet.com. New routes will be available for ticket sales shortly.
