The time for the latest possible check-in varies between domestic and international flights and between different airlines. Please check your travel documents or with your airline to be sure what applies to your particular journey.
At the check-in counter
All travellers must check in, in order to receive a boarding pass, even those who are travelling only with hand baggage. An ID document inspection is mandatory within the EU, so be prepared to show acceptable proof of your identity.
NOTE: Do not store photographic film in your check-in baggage, since it may be affected by the X-ray equipment that is used during baggage sorting. Put film in your hand baggage instead.

Check-in machines
LFV has 18 blue check-in machines at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport for those of you who are travelling on Sterling, Delta Air Lines, Finnair or Norwegian and want to do your own check-in.
In addition, at present the following airlines and tour operators offer the option of checking in using their own check-in machines at Stockholm-Arlanda:
British Airways, Air France, KLM, SAS, Air Canada, Austrian, LOT, Lufthansa, SAS, Spanair, Thai, United, Blue1, Cimber Air, Estonian Air, Icelandair and tour operators Apollo, Fritidsresor and Ving.
There are also machines that issue electronic tickets − they print out a ticket and boarding card when you swipe your debit or credit card. These solutions may be especially helpful when there is a heavy workload at the traditional check-in counters.
Checking in on the Internet
If you only carry hand baggage, or no baggage at all, some airlines offer the possibility to check in on the Internet.
The following 13 airlines give you the possibility to check in on the Internet
Security checkpoint and liquids
Passengers who have checked in should pass through security checkpoint, where all hand baggage is X-rayed. Here your hand bagage is checked to ensure that you are not carrying more liquids than you are allowed.
