Rules for checked baggage
Several things are important to think about concerning baggage you will be checking in, for example weight limits and what to do with prams (baby carriages) and bicycles.
How many kilos of baggage may you check in?
Ask your airline how many kilos of baggage you may check in. One piece of advice is not to pack fragile items in your checked baggage.
Be careful with film
X-ray equipment for screening checked-in baggage may damage both exposed and unexposed film, so always pack film in your hand baggage.
Send your excess baggage on international flights in advance
Are you going to travel abroad and have excess baggage? If you wish, you may send this baggage with Travel Cargo a few days before your departure date. Contact Travel Cargo in Terminal 5, tel. 08-597 854 80.
Oversized checked baggage
For oversized baggage, such as prams and bicycles, special packaging is available for purchase. Carrying special baggage like these items on aircraft will often result in an extra charge. Ask your airline what rules apply.
Address tag in your baggage
You are also welcome to place an address tag inside your baggage. If your baggage is misplaced, this will make it easier to find the owner. If your baggage is missing or damaged, contact the staff at the baggage service counter in the arrival hall.
