Direct to the Faroe Islands this summer
[2008-02-04 20:10]
This summer there will be direct flights from Stockholm to the Faroe Islands.

Atlantic Airways is starting a summer route between Stockholm-Arlanda Airport and the Faroe Islands, with a stopover in Stavanger on Norway’s west coast. There will be departures on Thursdays and Sundays during the period from June 19 to August 24. Flying time, including the stopover, will be three hours and 30 minutes using a four-engine BAe 146 aircraft seating 92 passengers.
The timetable is suitable for those who want to take a weekend trip to the islands, as well as for those wishing to stay longer. Those who want to travel onward from the Faroes can fly Atlantic Airways to Iceland and Greenland.
The Faroe Islands are well known for their unique natural scenery, and there are many alternatives for those wishing to see them on foot. Roughly equidistant between Iceland, Scotland, and Norway, the Faroes are an autonomous province of Denmark with its own language related to Old Norse.
