Norwegian Air Shuttle will fly to the Canary Islands
in its new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Norwegian Air Shuttle is starting direct scheduled service to Spain’s Canary Islands, a classic Swedish charter destination. Starting on October 28, sun-starved Swedes can fly non-stop to the summery warmth of Gran Canaria. Single fares will start at SEK 1,099.
When rain and chill are taking a firm grip in Sweden, the sun is shining over Gran Canaria, whose virtual year-round peak season has made the island a well-established destination among Swedes.
Norwegian will fly there twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Travellers can combine a city-based holiday with a relaxed beachside existence or sporting activities. Regardless of their preferences, the island is a classic that attracts Swedes to return year after year.
“We see great potential for scheduled flights to Gran Canaria from Stockholm, since demand is increasing but supply is limited. Passengers who quickly want to reach Gran Canaria today must fly charter or travel via a major European city, so we are pleased to be able to offer non-stop flights to one of our most popular tourist destinations,” says Krister Aarnio, CEO of Norwegian Sweden.
Gran Canaria offer extensive beaches at Maspalomas, bustling nightlife in Playa del Inglés, surfing at Bahía de Pozo Izquierdo and many spa establishments. For those interested in golfing, there are nine courses scattered around the island.
From Gran Canaria airport, it is a short distance to the capital Las Palmas in the north and to the attractions of the numerous holiday resorts in the south.
