Norwegian Air Shuttle is again joining the battle for Swedish skiing fanatics this winter as the airline re-launches its flights between Stockholm-Arlanda and Geneva, Switzerland. Fares will start at SEK 399.
Starting on December 27, Norwegian will fly to Geneva every Saturday. The timetable will expand on February 11, 2009 with the addition of one departure each week, on Wednesdays. The timetable is adapted to those wishing to spend a skiing week or a long weekend in the Alps.
“Geneva was a great success for us last winter, so we are choosing to expand our departures. It feels extra great to be able to offer our passengers an easy way to travel to attractive skiing resorts at a low fare,” says Krister Aarnio, CEO of Norwegian Sweden.
Geneva is Switzerland’s second-largest city and is both a business and tourist destination. Some 200,000 people live in the city, and it is very easy to get around. With its international atmosphere, Geneva has something for everyone, including galleries, museums, a varied selection of entertainment and gourmet food.
For those wishing to go skiing or engage in other winter sports, Geneva is the gateway to many well-known ski resorts such as Chamonix, Verbier, Val d’Isère and Val Thorens.
Norwegian plans to provide service on the route until March 28.
On October 27, easyJet will also begin service on the Stockholm – Geneva route with five departures a week, and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has flown the route for some time, also offering five departures per week.
“This means that Stockholm-Arlanda Airport can offer a total of up to 12 scheduled departures a week to Geneva. In addition, there will be charter flights. It has never been easier to fly to the snow-covered Alps than it will be this coming winter,” says Niclas Härenstam, Manager Press Relations, LFV Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.
