Skyways taking over Växjö route

[2008-05-22 15:54]

Skyways will take over the air route from Stockholm-Arlanda to the Swedish city of Växjö on August 11.

Only two hours after Scandinavian Airlines announced that it will withdraw from Växjö, Skyways announced that it would take over the route. Starting no later than August 11, Skyways expects to fly five Stockholm-Växjö return trips per weekday and one on Sundays, using a 50-passenger Saab 2000 turboprop.

“The new route between Växjö and Stockholm further strengthens our Swedish domestic route network. We hope and trust that a five return-trip per day frequency will be appreciated in the region, since it will increase opportunities for flexible travel,” says Peter Browall, Skyways’ Director of Marketing and Sales.

Flysmaland, which today already flies the route between Växjö − one of the major cities in Småland province − and Stockholm-Bromma, has announced that it will increase the number of flights from 46 trips a week to 70.
