Sterling is expanding its Swedish domestic services to Gothenburg and Malmö from Stockholm-Arlanda. The new timetable is mainly adapted to those who need to travel fast and efficiently on a same day round trip.
Beginning on March 31, Sterling is expanding to five departures per weekday to Gothenburg and Malmö. On weekends, as previously there will be one departure on Saturdays and two on Sundays. The new timetable offers frequent departures in the morning and evening, when the demand is heaviest. During these periods it has sometimes been difficult to find seats to Gothenburg and Malmö ever since FlyMe stopped flying a year ago.
“In itself this is a positive concern, but it is still a concern since individual travellers can’t travel when they wish. Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) at Stockholm-Arlanda and Malmö Aviation at Stockholm-Bromma recently expanded their services. Now that Sterling is doing the same, hopefully the supply will catch up with the demand,” says Niclas Härenstam, Manager Press Relations, LFV Stockholm Division.
Sterling has a low fare image, and ticket prices for a single journey start at around SEK 300.
“Flying is not only the fastest way to travel, but often also the cheapest,” Mr Härenstam says.
